I remember back then when….
When I was in School. Stuff I think is safe to say now. It’s only been like what, 3 years?
The following you are about to read is true stuff that happened. Most of it was in High school and elementary or home. I don’t remember Middle School, all that was a blurr. This is tech related of course. Somewhat. But nevertheless explains some stuff about me.
When I was in school, I learned how to use a computer in 1rst grade, when at home we didn’t get one until 3rd grade. I was so happy. WIN95 <3
In elementary school, Kinder though 6th grade(2003). NO ONE had a cell-phone. If we had to make a call, we used the OFFICE! You spoiled rich kids.
At home I learned about compression and Windows 95 file structure, and how to navigate through DOS to play those really old games. I also learned Windows can delete itself when I was in 5th grade. This was how my future in computer repair began.
When I was in elementary school, we learned how to use DOS commands. No it was not a technically advanced school, we just couldn’t afford to upgrade to Windows 98.
My favorite school games were: Oregon Trail (don’t remember version but it had 3 CDs and had human actors in-game) Math Blaster, MS Flight Sim 98 and 2004, MS Paint (I know it’s not a game, but I liked it.)
When I was in school, I used the school servers to back up all my 30GB of music, a lot back then. I wonder if it’s still there.
When I was in school, I learned how to code in C for a weekend just so I could make a virus for my senior prank. Let’s just say it doesn’t turn out well when no one can use the school computers for a week while they reinstall. Come on guys! It was just a prank! The good thing was that no one suspected it was me since I’m just a dumb kid. And I used a floppy to infect the computers. I couldn’t afford a USB Drive!
When I was in school, I was such a bad hacker that in order to not get caught saving non-school related stuff on their servers, I saved them in a folder under some random student’s names. I actually feel bad for him now. George Z. Ramirez.
When I was in school, I got caught surfing video game hacking sites. My teacher said, I don’t even want to know how you got on. Silly firewalls.
I remember browsing the web without tabs. Ok that’s not old but my bro went crazy once when I turned off tabs.
When I was in school I pretended to be dumber than I really was in order to prevent my self from overachieving and working too hard. However the fact that I mentioned this out-loud means that I am not as smart as I think I am.
The following is from my coworkers at work.
I remember when I was in school. 8-bit was cutting edge, and Super Mario World was the most graphically intensive game. I was in awe. Skyrim, eat your heart out.
I remember playing with the N64, man even though it had no expansion pack, 4 players at the same time! Lan party!
I guess these guys went the video game route. OK that’s all the junk for today. I might post something else today.
OK guys, now that you read some of my experiences, what do you remember special and different that you did at school or home, that makes you the person you are today?
